Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers

It was an accident, but I ended up at a Tom Petty concert last night. 14th row! Never been to a venue quite that large for a musician. 14 thousand in the house, cell phones glowing and wanting more. Only about two lighters flickered.

It was something. It was an older crowd than what I was used too. But good. I swear there was some pot smoke in the air. And security was everywhere.

We got there late, since Josh was no way going to sit through Steve Winwood. It was a shocker he sat threw Tom Petty. He has his own bands he loves, but Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers isn't one of them.

Anyway, he's so rotten. He kept saying, "I can't see in the dark..." It was a bit agrivating. At first, I didn't think we'd ever get on the floor we walked around in a circle for the most part. Stood in the dark. Finally, I made him ask some Security lady to help us. She looked at our tickets and took us right to his Mom and boyfriend. WE got to hear the last 4 songs Winwood did. They were awesome. Well, maybe not to Josh.

See, this couple was suppose to go with Josh's Mom and her boyfriend, but they had to go out of town for a family emergency so they didn't want the tickets to go to waste.

I wanted to go. Josh went because I wanted him too.

The stage was so awesome. Perhaps it was hard to see Tom up there like a rockgod every second, but you really got the excitement ffrom the light show and the video streaming from all angles.

Really, the heartbreakers are an amazing band. The piano players totally rocked the house with just about every song.

I knew a good many of the songs. I wasn't that familar with "Gloria" but man, did he work that song. It was funny. But they really rocked the house and the season crowd became kids again. So yeah, it was a very cool moment to witness.
