top 40 ain't what it use to be

jason

Again, Jason was back and very brave with that little ukleh singing "Over the rainbow". He was amazing and adorable too. His cover was the best last night. A few of the others that always have knock out performances just didn't do it last night..like David Cook.

One thing about American Idol is that its make the comeback of the cover song. So many bands are now doing each others songs. Like REM singing "I will survive", or Blink 182's version of "Hit me baby one more time". And who can't resist a new version of "Mrs. Robinson"?

Are there any new songs out there?

Of course, but you might never hear them on the radio station. Here you can't pick up Metro Station on the radio, no We the Kings or even Cobra Starship.

Maybe its the midwest. Maybe its the guys who pay for the commercials only want to listen to certain stuff. Hard to say these days what makes a hit, because in certain circles it might be a hit. Especially, if you've got it bad for Danny Nariego who might only be an internet star from American Idol. Hopefully, he'll be a voice to be reckoning with.

In a sense Danny is a ground breaker. First openly gay contestant that American Idol actually accepted. There were a few others, but usually they hid that fact for the most part. To bad he couldn't have stuck around for more of the rounds.

American Idol gives back tonight. So stay tuned.
